How does the LED light work after the switch power supply is turned on?

1. Basic working principle of LED light strip after connecting the switch power supply: When the LED light strip is connected to the switch power supply as required, the switch power supply will output electric energy according to the set voltage and current. For example, common LED light strips operate at voltages like 12V or 24V. Take a 12V LED strip as an example: the switching power supply converts 220V/110V alternating current into stable 12V direct current (DC) suitable for LED lighting. During this conversion process, the internal circuitry of the LED power supply utilizes components such as transformers and rectifiers to achieve voltage conversion and current stabilization.

2. Current Conduction in LED Light Strips: LED light strips consist of multiple LEDs connected in series or parallel. When powered on, current flows from the positive terminal through each LED. Each LED has a forward voltage rating. For example, in a series-connected configuration with four LEDs, each having 3V forward voltage, the total voltage requirement for the strip becomes approximately 12V. The current then passes through each LED sequentially, causing them to emit light.

3. Light Emission Mechanism: An LED (Light Emitting Diode) is a semiconductor device. When the LED switch power supply is activated, current passing through the LED releases energy in the form of photons, thereby producing light. Different materials of LEDs emit different colors of light. For example, gallium indium phosphide (InGaP) LEDs primarily emit red light, while gallium nitride (GaN) LEDs can produce blue or white light.
